A Typical Day in My Role

During BELL Summer, a typical day for me as a Lead Teacher usually consists of reviewing lesson plans, observing lessons, assisting teachers and teaching assistants, and serving as a mentor for scholars and staff. I also conduct teacher training for the BELL After School program. Coaching and training educators is so much fun! I meet intelligent and interesting people who are on the same educational path as me.

Why BELL is a Great Place to Work

BELL is an amazing place to work because you are surrounded by people who share your vision. You are supported and trusted as a professional educator, and the reward is seeing scholars grow, participate in exciting learning opportunities, and gain something no one can take away from them: their knowledge. If your mission is to help children be the best they can be, then BELL is for you!

The Toughest Thing About My Job

Honestly, the hardest part about my job is having to say goodbye to scholars, teachers, and teaching assistants at the end of the summer. I didn't want the summer to end!

A Memorable Moment

At BELL, I'm most proud of the academic growth of the scholars and of the dedication our teachers and tutors put in! It all comes together at the end of BELL Summer, when scholars "graduate." The graduation ceremony consisted of our staff awarding scholars certificates. Seeing the pride on their faces and on the faces of their parents in the audience is a moment in my life that I will never forget.
